knowing what you want

On some level, I think everyone knows what they want.

Everyone has some idea what their preferences are, what makes them come alive and what makes them feel like they’re becoming a worse version of themselves. Some things take us in one direction and some take us in another.

Instinctively we know the direction in which we want to be headed.

What isn’t always so clear is the methodology for travelling in that direction.

Often the easiest way is simply to experiment and then examine the results.

We can also struggle to rationalise our desires, both to others and to ourselves. We are ashamed of what we want, especially if it falls outside the norm.

We know what we want. We just have to be confident and selfish enough to go after it.
