Why do we get anxious?
Everything we experience falls into one of two categories. There are those within our control and there are those outside of it. Those which belong to us and those which belong to others.
If it’s something within our power to change, then the outcome is down to us.
We can make it however we want it to be. If it’s something negative, we are in a position to prevent it. Once we take responsibility for that fact, correspondingly there is no need to feel any anxiety.
As soon as we start to desire results beyond our control though, we demonstrate a lack of awareness. When we place value in things outside of our influence, we reveal how little we know.
Certain outcomes are not ours to dictate. And it is those which are behind our feelings of anxiety.
Recognise what is yours. Let go of what is not.
