stop talking, start doing

Fancy language will only get you so far.

It’s not enough simply to talk about doing things. There’s no risk involved and, consequently, no accountability. You have to actually turn those words into actions. You have to take responsibility for imagining the change you seek and you have to take responsibility for creating that change.

Everything is different once you start to interact with reality.

In your head you get to control all the variables, you get to decide the outcomes. Everything can be just how you want. Taking action means accepting the potential of something happening which you’re not expecting.

This means it can’t just be mindless action though. Action for action’s sake. You have to exercise your judgement and be aware of the repercussions. You have to decide what’s important and what’s not, when to let go and when to take charge.

Don’t just tell the story, live it.
