We’re always looking to improve ourselves.
The temptation can be to keep chasing that improvement. But a huge part of becoming who we want to be is accepting who we are now. Accepting where we are now, what we’re doing right now. It’s about examining our reactions to the current situation.
We have to be able to escape from the narratives we create about the past and the visions we create of the future. We have to let go of those thoughts.
Instead of running from the present, stand still. Don’t be biased towards either calm or activity. Be equally at home with both. Accept things for what they are. Accept people for who they are, what they feel and how they behave.
The discomfort will always be there. It is part of life. Forget yourself and appreciate it. Appreciate the inconvenience.
