progression

We all have a direction we want to be going in, things we want to make progress with, things we want to achieve.

A proper task, an important task that should have all of our attention.

But it is easy to get sidetracked.

There are lots of things we can choose to do instead. We can keep ourselves endlessly occupied chasing anything we like. We can choose not to think critically. We can choose to avoid taking responsibility. We can choose the easy questions instead of trying to find the difficult answers. It doesn’t serve any purpose though.

We have to distinguish between progress that is truly worthwhile and things we’re using simply to distract ourselves for the sake of something to do.

Are you making the right kind of progress? Or are you travelling in vain?
