The past doesn’t exist.
But that doesn’t mean it isn’t useful.
It’s all in our mind. How we view it helps us shape our present actions.
What do we remember? What have we forgotten? What would we do again, given the chance?
What would we not have done?
There’s no sense in regret. There’s no point in trying to ignore it.
We’re the only person for whom that past is important. We’re the only person who has the whole picture. So if we want to paint it a different way, we can.
What has happened, has happened. We are a different person now than we were then. The person who made those choices is dead.
We are not them. But we can learn from them.
Who will we become?
