is it necessary?

Is it absolutely necessary? Or is it just something to pass the time?

Are you just filling a space where you think there ought to be something?

Or are you doing what you have to do?

It’s very easy to find things to do, to find ways of occupying ourselves. But that doesn’t mean that those things are worth doing.

Or that they need to be done.

We have to be able to distinguish between the possible and the necessary. To turn down the majority of the opportunities that present themselves to us and focus on the ones that matter.

It might make you feel like you’ve achieved something. But was it actually worth achieving?

Are you doing the work? Or are you just keeping busy?
