reading the map

Maps can be useful things.

But they rely on one key element.

Knowing where you are.

Without that, it’s just a collection of lines. Without that, it has no more meaning than any other random collection of lines.

So taking stock of your current position is a good place to start.

We don’t always need a map though.

Sometimes a general direction is enough.

There will always be signs along the way if we’re paying attention.

This is where I am now. This is the way I’m trying to go.

And off we go.
