the process of failing

Today I failed.

But I also succeeded.

In terms of the problems I set out to complete, I failed. I didn’t manage to do everything that was necessary.

But I learnt. I know more about the problem than I did before. I’ve gained an insight into what it will take for me to be successful. I made progress.

Had I simply stuck to something I knew I could do without really trying, I would have completed it. I wouldn’t have been better for having done it though.

I wouldn’t have improved myself.

Tomorrow I might fail again.

If I do, I can be confident knowing I will have become better in the process.

And if I succeed, then it’s time to find another problem to solve.
