People have an idea of how you should behave.
Each individual situation, each individual relationship.
Failing to live up to those expectations results in tension and frustration. For both parties.
So what can we do?
We can’t predict everyone’s response. We can’t keep everyone happy.
What we can do is make sure any assumptions are clearly communicated, for those times when other people’s expectations matter.
Make sure the other person knows what you’re thinking. Make sure we know where we stand.
Make sure we know what’s expected.
