Understanding doesn’t come straight away.
It takes time.
But we want to share what we’ve learnt. We see how the knowledge might help us and we want to use it to help other people.
Even if we ignore the fact that we can’t change anyone apart from ourselves, this approach is unlikely to work.
Because if we don’t really understand the ideas in our own mind, what hope do we have of conveying them to someone else?
People learn in different ways. They find certain methods of reasoning more persuasive than others. What convinced you might not convince them. And without proper understanding, without being able to extract the basic idea, you can’t change your explanation.
You only have the way you were taught.
Once everything has had time to digest, then you might be ready to teach.
